This animation shall explain the biogas technique. You will be shown the process of a biogas plant from the delivery of feedstock to the output of the digestate. This biogas film is useful for everyone, who would like to plan or operate a biogas plant, no matter if you are farmer, energy provider or disposer. Furthermore, the biogas film is excellent for operator training, for school lessons and university purposes.

We are happy to welcome guest authors to write articles related to Sri Lankan biogas projects and expansions.Your articles will review by administration and will publish as soon as possible. Articles must be related to biogas projects; that is the only rule. Your name and organization will be published as your request.

Many case studies and analysis has shown the tremendous potentials of biogas as a energy source which is green and renewable. But in Asia, specially in Sri Lanka commercialization of this technology is lagging behind. But we can take foreign examples of marketing the technology. UTS Biogastechnik GmbH, Zeppelinstraße 8, D-85399 Hallbergmoos is one such example of biogas solutions company which provide biogas plants and accessories.

I think in order to popularize biogas technology among citizens and business establishments we need turnkey plant solution providers and accessories (pumps, solid feeders, seperators, …etc)  suppliers.

The Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka and the Alumni-association GAASL collaborate in the developmentally and scientifically relevant matter of environment and waste management since three years. While the programme unfolds a component of a relevance of energy politics will have to be added to the initial concept, namely the possibility of the first ever production of electricity in Sri Lanka coming from biomass.

This project has been and is going on to be supported by the scientists of the Institute for agricultural technique and animal farming of the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture in Freising-Weihenstephan and of the Department of Agriculture of the Ruhuna University in Matara.

The project 2009 aims at the set up and start of production of the first Biogas energy plant at the Ambewela Farm.
Two German scientists have agreed to take active part in this phase of our project:
Dr. Andreas Gronauer and Dipl. Eng. Ulrich Gams.
